  Internet Basics for Photographers

For photographers, the Internet offers three main functions:
    COMMUNICATION
  • Use the Web for electronic mail, newsgroups and research
  • Transmit digital picture files
  • Sell photographs to web publishers

    PUBLICATION

  • Get listed and post samples on a photographers' gallery site.
  • Develop your own web site to publish portfolios, credentials, background information and new work.
  • Create photoessays and photojournalism features paid for by subscribers or sponsored by advertisers.

    TRANSACTION

  • Search and download on-line stock photography.
  • Post and sell your photographs over the net.
