Here's a note to add to the "Dead Sites" list:

An interesting and controversial forum existed for some time on the L'eggs Products web site designed and programmed by Proxicom, Inc.

Proxicom's case study expounds upon the benefits of providing a community for the customers of a prospective client. Unfortunately, the mainstream customers of Legg's did not want to discuss the product. Instead, the forum was dominated by male customers eager to make the point that they used the product as well as women. Legg's apparently felt that this was not the benefit they were hoping to receive and the forum mysteriously vanished from the site without a trace or explanation. The case study on Proxicom's web site is the only evidence that it ever existed.
